The Book of Micah

Commentaries Some interesting books.

This verse, the best known of Micah, among the best known of the Old Testament, alone makes Micah worth reading.

Active from 750 to 690BC spoke during the time of the fall of the Northern kingdom to Assyria. Micah was from the SE of Palestine, near the home town of Amos. A contemporary of Isaiah, Micah is mentioned in Jerimiah. Micah is one of the 12 minor prophets.

The authors translate both the Hebrew and the Septuagint and compare them as they proceed through their analysis. Heavy on poetic structure, but quite understanding of the limits of the older generation of higher criticism.
