Our new relationship with God (Verses 20-21)

The Law came, so that the full power of sin could be seen. Yet where sin was powerful, God's kindness was even more powerful. sin ruled by means of death. But God's kindness now rules, and God has accepted us because of Jesus Christ our Lord. This means we will have eternal life. (verses 20-21, CEV)

This is a summary of the chapter. We have a choice of what will be our master: sin or God. Will we be mastered by our temptations and our bad habits or give our obedience to one who wishes to set us free?

Let's try to summarize this chapter in three sentences: Sin leads to separation from God and death. The Law points this out to us. Jesus reverses the effects of this and restores our intimate relationship to God.
